Quality Time

One of the most common lines of inquiry that we hear in this age of dog parks, doggie day care, and puppy playgroups concerns outside exercise.

Briefly stated we think that the quality of the time your dog spends in his run is more important than the time he spends out of it.

Quality Time is purely an add-on service. Most of our pets get sufficient attention and exercise as part of the basic routine, so we discourage people from asking for extra attention out of a sense of guilt. Nevertheless if you want that additional layer of one-on-one incorporated into your dog’s visit here, we will to custom design a Quality Time program for your dog during his first two or three boarding experiences.

We call ours a “quality time” program to distinguish it from a pure exercise program. We find many dogs would prefer to be brushed than to run around; others relate better to a concentrated dose of belly rubs than to Frisbee chasing. Of course Frisbee chasing has its proponents. Other dogs will respond to a combination of options.

Finally, if you have reason to think your pet will only adapt to his 60 square foot space if he’s exercised to the point of physical exhaustion, please say so. If your suspicions are correct we are not the right kennel for your dog. If your dog regularly participates in a day care program which features hours of exercise each day, he will likely find our setting too confining. At this time we do not feature group playtimes because they require staffing levels that exceed our resources.
